Black Velvet Butterfly formed in March 2019 in Auckland New Zealand. What can you say about a brand new band that hasn’t done anything but release one single and music video? Well, not a lot.
The past is short but the future is bright for Black Velvet Butterfly. Who’s in the band isn’t important. We’re nobody, but we could be something. Maybe something feasible depending on how our next few moves unfold.
What we can say is that we’ve put our best foot forward with our first ever release titled O.M.G (Oh My Goth) which is an addictively more-ish tune in a style somewhere between Type O Negative and David Bowie.
The music video is an animation with gothic themes of death and vampires. The song and video loosely follow the story of a goth girl who is “turned” by a vampire. Gaining a greater zest for death than she ever had for life.
The single and video will premiere at 7pm on Monday the 26th of August 2019 on YouTube and will be available from all good digital outlets. The single will also be free for the first 200 people to download it from the Black Velvet Butterfly Bandcamp page.
We really hope you enjoy our single and any help you might give us to reach an audience will be greatly appreciated.
