Soulful singer-songwriter Louis Baker is undoubtedly one of the most compelling voices to emerge from New Zealand's fertile musical landscape in recent years.
With a powerhouse voice that's capable of a primal RnB scream or tear-inducing plea, and a talent for writing deeply personal, stirring songs, the Wellington artist has spent the past decade evolving his sound from nuanced acoustic ballads to seductive soul grooves that have taken him the world over.
Baker’s debut album sees the celebrated artist dive into new emotional depths, weaving themes of self-acceptance and human connection into an expansive body of work. Sitting at nine tracks, Open features Baker's playlist-smashing single So Lo which premiered with Pilerats,
Baker’s beloved anthem for his home turf The People, plus the Silver Scroll nominated Black Crow and
more that are yet to be discovered. The #1 charting album currently sits at over 4.5 million Spotify streams with loving accolades floating in from around the world.
