Look At Me is the second single of Christchurch artists And$um upcoming debut album.
Enlisting the help of Auckland powerhouses in Fable, Bobandii and Dera Meelan, Look At Me is a hard-hitting and funky track looking to call attention to the hard work all four artists have been doing.
Although separated by distance, And$um explains the track came about naturally. “I actually opened up for Bobandii and Fable on their tour down here. We hit it off pretty well and ended up going back to my studio at home. I showed them the Dera track I had and they both loved it, we sat in silence for like 20 minutes as we were all writing and everyone was just super locked in. Everyone had the same energy and we all seemed to have the same idea in mine, Look At Me was born from that.”
Look At Me is the second single of And$um’s upcoming un-named debut album, further cementing the Christchurch artist as one to watch. Look At Me seeks to continue from a successful 2019, which saw And$um drop three full-length projects, notch over 120,000 streams, feature on a variety of New Zealand radio playlists and receive a nomination for Christchurch song of the year by local radio station RDU at their Magnet Awards.
And$um explains, “Look At Me is a fun and upbeat track that has a tongue in cheek style of drawing attention to yourself. You gotta have confidence in yourself, but don’t take yourself so seriously.”
Planned for a March 2020 release the album will have features from Bobandii, Fable, Dharmarat, Hxrman and Candice Milner.
‘Look At Me’ is available on Spotify and all other digital streaming platforms via DRM today.
