Cam MacLean releases new single, 'Solitude'

07 February 2020 - 0 Comments

Wellington-based artist Cam MacLean has released a new single Solitude - a warm, contemplative and hook-laden ode to the art of self-analysis.

Following his debut single New Horizon - released in October 2019 - Solitude skillfully takes the listener on a sonic journey. With playful melodies, fervent guitar licks and a bouncy beat, Solitude depicts MacLean’s cheeky demeanor and new-found introspection.

Inspiration for the song struck on a gloomy Saturday morning, allowing MacLean to express hidden thoughts he’d cast away.

“It emphasises the motions I went through to differentiate the person I was, to the person I am. The values I held, to the values I hold. Owning up to my shit has allowed me to document a really low part of my life with a positive spin,” says MacLean

“I wrote it as a blanket of comfort for myself,” he adds. “I hope when people listen to it they can become more honest with themselves and rearrange for the better.”
