Following on from last year’s NZ Music Month launch in Auckland, with Wellington’s favourite sons Shihad rocking the socks off thousands of drenched fans in Aotea Square, comes the unveiling of the line-up for this year’s free All Ages festivities.
With invaluable support from Vodafone and the Wellington City Council, the launch takes place in Wellington’s Waitangi Park from 2pm on Sunday April 30th, and yes, we’ve thought about the possibility of rain – Wellington Town Hall is on standby for us to pack in gear if the weather packs in too.
Hot on the heels of their Top Ten debut album As Sweet As Sin, and smack bang in the middle of a nationwide tour, The Bleeders breeze into Wellington for what is sure to be another storming set.
You’ve already heard that they rock more than you do, so Chris Stapp and Matt Heath are wagging from the shoot of their first feature film The Devil Dared Me To. They’ll take the stage with Deja Voodoo to hammer the point home ahead of the release of their second album due this May.
And alongside this trio of acts is another Wellingtonian special – three piece femme fatale punksters Cherry’s Gemstones, who hit the road in May touring their debut EP Love In The Dreamscape Matrix Reality.

It’s a show not to be missed with a line up boasting some of our countries finest performers… and a great way to kick off NZ Music Month 2006.
