In December 2019 Amber released her debut single Lights Down Low and has been working toward completing her first EP. She is a Christchurch-born soloist musician covering genres from Pop to R&B. Lights Down Low made its way onto NZ on Air’s monthly top tracks and from this Amber gained a feature in the NZ Musician Magazine. In 2019, the 18 year old competed in the Smokefree Rockquest and placed second in the Canterbury regional finals. She is a dedicated musician and looks forward to what is to come from her music studies and hard work.
On March 6th, Amber’s new single Little More will be on all streaming platforms. Taking more of an R&B approach, this song has a soft melody and is supported by gospel-like backing vocals that compliment the style. Marley Sola helped to create the production of this track as well as Amber’s whole EP which will be available in a few months time. Recently Amber held a concert as a showcase for the release of this EP which was a success.
Little More is based around the situation of losing someone that you loved but realising your worth and learning that you’re more important than the way someone can at times make you feel and that time will always heal you. The perspective of the song “Helps the audience to see the situation from a bystanders point of view, by being both sad in a way as well as an accomplished ‘moving on’ type of feel”.
Amber’s EP will be released in the following months of this year.
