Jimmy Hazelwood Delivers a Slice of Big-Ticket Pop with Latest Single 'Heavy Jeans'

10 March 2020 - 0 Comments

Heavy Jeans is the latest single from New-Zealand born Singer-Songwriter, Jimmy Hazelwood. A slice of raw, unwavering radio-pop, the single explores youth, loss and the sinking torment of coming to terms with your sexuality.

His first release since 2017, Heavy Jeans is decidedly pop with impossibly catchy hooks and an upbeat, boppy melody that starkly contrast the single’s melancholy subject matter. “It’s fire inside of me and I cover it up, oh god, I’m afraid of what I’m turning into” Hazelwood softly confesses before jumping into the energetic, infectious chorus. Invoking comparisons to pop heavyweights Lana Del Rey, Taylor Swift and Bruce Springsteen, this is a track with staying power.

Heavy Jeans is Hazelwood’s intimate and personal admission tenderly hand-delivered as an unapologetic pop hit.

Heavy Jeans is out now.
