Hybrid Rose has levelled up from producer/co-writer to being the pop vocalist on her own story. After her 2019 release Dream Team, which was the official vocal debut from artist. Hybrid has been writing so many new songs and is ready to debut a new era of vocal artistry with Mr. Spaceman, which features the wondrous talents of Christchurch based Innovative Hip Hop/Rap artist And$um.
Mr. Spaceman is an R&B influenced Cyberpop track that expresses the discomfort of being introverted in extreme social situations, Hybrid explains “I really wanted to make a song that captures that isolation that one can feel when they’re in a situation they don’t want to be in. Having a rapper on this track experiments with the contrasting possibilities - Creatively, I liked the idea of bringing two worlds together and I’m a huge fan of And$um’s work so when he expressed his interest, I knew he’d be perfect.” The track slowly progress from this R&B styled space jam and slowly transforms into this out-of-this-world cinematic experience, also sampling the infamous quote from radio communications during Apollo 13 “Houston, we have a problem”.
And$um is set to release his debut mixtape, in coming months so check him out on his social media for that. Hybrid Rose plans to release a new album this year, and you can find her on all social media platforms.
