Mika Haka releases his studio album The Aroha Collective ahead of its planned release in response to COVID-19.
The Aroha Collective blends genre of R&B, Soul, Pop, Te Reo Maori, Kapa Haka and Funk together in 9 tracks titled; Tahi - Rua - Toru - Wha - Rima - Ono - Whitu - Waru - Iwa (1-9).
Written by Mika and produced by Mika and Alan Jansson. Mika has bought together collaborations with Soul sensation Lavina Williams, Edinburgh Fests Haka Vogue Bare Feet Street, World BeatBox champ King Homeboy, Maori favourites Mokoera Te Amo, Taki Maori Kapa Haka and Vicki Inia and a rangatahi duo Yorke & Te Amo for the album of songs now streaming on all major platforms.

I felt like releasing this album of waiata now so we can all share our Aroha/Love in this volatile world.” Mika
Originally timed for a release on Pink Shirt Day (May 22) as part of the Aroha Project 10 year anniversary (a festival/project of screen, music, fashion and dance.) The Aroha Collective has been brought forward in times when we are all looking for things to do and listen too.
“Right now we could all do something loving. Somewhere someone is sitting in silence and isolation so we are all looking for ways of feeling connected, across the globe, this is our small part of sharing Aroha for those feeling lost in this world.
