Motocade guitarist Geordie McCullum returns with a new project under the moniker SINSIN to create a vibrant mix of shoe gaze and ambient rock.
Bringing together three eclectic artists from three renowned Kiwi acts, Geordie is joined by Zowie bass player Harry Champion and Kerretta drummer H. Walker in the live line-up.
After years of experience on the local music scene to the success of several album releases, chart placements and numerous performances, the dynamic trio crossed paths, joined forces and embarked on the new project.
Citing influences such as The Dirty 3, Nick Cave, The Clean, Radiohead, Iggy Pop, David Bowie...
Layers has also been quite the work in progress. Produced over the last year and a half, the long-time production is evident in the distinctive sound of each track. It’s diversely developed and yet cunningly cohesive in sound.
A dual format release, Layers will also feature a bonus disc with the videos for title track ‘Layers’, directed by Geordie McCullum, and new music video for lead single ‘Sorry but I’m Falling Down Again’.
That new video, directed by Sam Handley who has worked with Connan Mockasin, The Datsuns and An Emerald City, also features Joel Flynger (Popstrangers) and Mikey Sperring (The Drab Doo Riffs) and was all shot on VHS film.
The self-directed video for ‘Layers’ inspired the artwork for the EP and is available to view on TV and online.
SINSIN’s debut EP, Layers, is due to be released in-store and digitally this coming 7 November through Dirty Records.
