Stayfree Carefree have been one of inner city Auckland’s best kept secrets for too long.
The band who never made it beyond Newton’s King’s Arms Hotel for a year or two, have now released their debut self-titled album and spent the summer touring, including dates in Wellington, Christchurch, Nelson, Hamilton, Palmerston North, Wanganui, New Plymouth and Gisborne.
The biggest audiences the band played to were outdoor gigs, opening for Shihad in Gisborne and playing a free Channel Z concert in Wellington’s City Square.
Stayfree Carefree also played the Big Day Out and opened for Shihad at two crazy South Island Orientation gigs in Christchurch and Nelson.
