This episode covers Tadpole's guitarist from 1999 to 2003, Chris Yong. Here we discuss the newly released Tadpole Collection which features 4 discs, including the bands three studio albums (The Buddhafinger, The Medusa,
and their self-titled final album) but also Remains of The Day, a collection of unreleased songs that include b-sides, live recordings, acoustic versions and other rarities.
Chris also discusses the history of the band, his connection
to 80's music, his unashamed love of nu metal, what each band member brought to the music of Tadpole, along with who could have replaced each member in an alternative universe, why amputees may have invented pop metal, overcoming identity crisis,
why vinyl is cool, why taking the piss at band practice might just create your biggest hit and other tangential conversation matters. A long, relaxing and in-depth interview with the man who wrote the riffs to the most iconic Tadpole songs.
Tadpole formed in 1994, and have supported such acts as Placebo, Regurgitator, The Living End, Bare Naked Ladies, Sugar Ray and Live.
Since winning the 1995 Battle Of The Bands, Tadpole have gone on to achieve near triple Platinum sales in NZ and have been the finalists for more than 7 music awards.
They have also performed with Pacifier, The Feelers and The Headless Chickens, and have performed at the Big Day Out and Sweetwaters.
