Dilz - Single Review: Wait On You Ft. J.Williams & TY
This
song is about being in a toxic relationship and what made it so toxic. The
music is somewhat what you would expect, a bit of piano and a hip-hop beat. But
the music flows well with the smooth vocals and rap verses. J. Williams provides
his smooth vocals to the chorus which breaks up the rap verses from Dilz and TY. Dilz comes in on the first verse, his raps are straight forward and clean
with the weight of his words coming through. There’s no surprise TY knows what
he’s doing, with his verse also providing a range of flares.
Dilz has provided a simple, yet beautifully shot, lyric video to accompany the release of Wait On You. The video clearly shows the male leaving a toxic relationship with the female. The male character wants to get away but at the same time he seems uncertain if he really wants to leave her. Wait On You seems like it is a somewhat personal track for Dilz. But it is definitely a song I am sure people will relate too.
Wait On You also makes me think of the music by Smashproof and J. Williams that I used to listen too. Dilz is definitely someone to keep an eye on. Regardless of what it is about, Wait On You is a great track

His album Metamorphosis debuted at #2 on the New Zealand Hip Hop charts and he has racked up over half a million views on his YouTube platform alone. Dilz has a number of accolades under his belt including collaborating with Rhythm + Flow's runner up, Flawless Real Talk and one of Australian's biggest independent artists, Bmike. He has also worked with renown NZ artists such as Scribe, Smashproof, J Williams and Mikey Mayz.
Dilz is no stranger to performing having headlined two national tours. He has also opened for the likes of Sid Diamond, Che Fu, Donell Lewis, Kennyon Brown, DJ Noiz, Lion Rezz, Lomez Brown, and completed a mini North Island tour with The Crusader himself, Scribe.
