Lexxa - Single Review: Get Out
Lexxa returns with Get Out, a follow up to their synth pop jam I Got Better Friends Now. After a good year of touring and opening for both local and international heavyweights, Get Out is an excellent second studio release.
The track starts out slow, a soothing beat is played out on an electric drumkit with some slight guitar to accompany it before smashing straight into the chorus. The layers supplied through the tasty 80's tone of the synthesiser give this track a well-timed summer vibe that makes the listener just want to get up and dance. Combined with the hook of the chorus, the track presents a punchy and exciting approach to the subject matter of personal freedom.
On the musical side of things, the track is well layered in rhythms and melody, it's ultimately a very fun track, the synth takes up the melody of the track, creating that neon spacey vibe that is so loved in synth pop. The drum track is very well paced, in the verse it's methodical and building while in the chorus it so inhabits that idea of breaking free and well, getting out by bursting through with a powerful beat.
Get out is another fantastic installment from the duo and without a doubt there will be far more to come of this quality from Lexxa.
