Kyd X - Single Review: Real Ones Know

03 Apr 2019 // A review by Freecell

Kyd X has produced some new fire! Having just signed up to Rail Records, Kyd X has immersed himself in the Hamilton hip-hop scene as he waited for the right time to make his mark. He has hit the road running and Real Ones Know showcases his unique fresh talent exceptionally well, with the video hitting 140k views in the short space of a week.

Real Ones Know starts off with some interesting synth sounds and the melody line is catchy as, but when the bass line comes in, woah! Sick! Not only is the bass line massive, it adds a whole new dimension to the track. This track would sound amazing performed live and it would fit in perfectly at any Summer festival.

Kyd X's rapping style is fresh and original. The meaning of the song is deep, and it gives me the impression that he has worked hard to get to where he is, with only the 'real ones' knowing his loyalty and endurance.

Real Ones Know has a cool vibe, with atmospheric sounds giving it a lot of depth and substance. The bass line is on point and pulls the whole song together. Kyd X's rapping style complements the full sound of the song perfectly. Kyd X is on to a new sound and direction for NZ hip-hop and I'm looking forward to what the future brings.

About Kyd X

Urban legends don't come along very often, but when they do they shine brighter than the rest. Kyd X is one of those anomalies that only reveals itself when the timing is right. That time is now.
