Pieces Of Molly - Single Review: I Don't Wanna

Pieces of Molly have been busy beavers, racking up a slew of international and major national support slots to go with their commercial radio play, EPs and single releases. I Don’t Wanna is their latest single, and you can hear influences ranging from Aerosmith to Red Fang, while Jet and The D4 also come to mind.
We are introduced to this “classic-rock-on-speed” sound from the get go. The drum sound explodes out of the speaker, Kurt Fleming opting not to tickle the skins by any stretch of the imagination. The guitars scratch and wail like a caged tiger, Sam Kubiak (rhythm guitar) and Ewen Glasgow (lead guitar/vocals) ensuring any doubts of their guitar hero credibility are burned at the altar as they worship their instruments. The sound is steadfastly upheld and underpinned by Doug Stewart on bass, and you can pretty much smell the sweat and spilt beer of the rock dive bar.
Glasgow shines on vocals; An out and out rock vocalist without question, and contributing to the stadium rock vibe. I Don’t Wanna blasts out of the starting gate like a rabid rhinoceros, before ascending through the pre chorus and chorus - confirming that this is a band capable of composing music that takes its listener on a journey. If you’re a fan of high energy, enthusiastic rock and roll that pulls influence from the entire timeline of the genre, then check out this track and this band.
