Bio

Julie Mason has over twenty years experience in the NZ Jazz scene, appearing at major arts and Jazz festivals throughout Australasia, as well as European and UK appearances.

She has performed for diverse audiences including everyone from British royalty to American presidents, professionally directed shows, toured the world with The National Band of New Zealand and has gained a big following at a numerous residencies she has held in Auckland venues.

She established The Auckland Jazz Workshop to provide a performance platform for students and currently tutors at the Massey University Jazz Studies Centre, Albany.

Julie has performed at some of the most prestigious musical events in New Zealand, and as performed for the heads of world government at APEC including President Bill Clinton. She has also performed with the Auckland Philharmonic in their Cisco Jazz series.
