Formed in the year 2001 in Auckland, The Demi Whores have grown into a must-see live act. Too Rock n Roll just to be pop, too melodic just to rock, too damned crazy to fit into any scene, The Whores are currently working on an album deep in the basement of Hotel Vermont, with Tom Atkinson at the controls.

"The recordings are not really like our live show, because the live show is more like an exorcism, losing the plot and perfomance art, where as we try and play the songs properly in the recording studio, instead of hacking them to pieces live" says Edward Gains, who himself has recorded 6 solo albums in a lo-fi 4 track stylee.

"Some of the songs are from my albums, and it is cool to beef them up with a band cause a song like Pussy Moon originally had a Casio drumbeat, and was just a little strange."

Marcus also performs with the Boxcar Guitars, and Edward Gains also runs his own outfit.
