Cliff returned from the UK at the end of 2003, in order to complete an NZ On Air funded single 'Overcoat'. This has since been produced by Andrew Buckton at Studio 203. Andrew also played bass and guitar on the song, with Stephen Small playing keyboards/organs, and Jay Foulkes providing drums and percussion. Cliff played guitar as well as providing the vocals.
As well as performing as a solo act, Cliff has established an Auckland-based band. This includes Brent Martin on drums/percussion, Andre Birt on guitar and AJ Hay, who plays keyboard and provides backing vocals.
The end of 2004 saw completion of the video for 'Overcoat', with director/producer James Brown.'Overcoat' appeared on the soundtrack for a film produced in 2005 by Karl Burnett.
Cliff and the band are out playing around Auckland. Catch them live, or check out his website to listen to their new album, 'Sink & Swim', which was recorded from mid-2005 and completed in early 2006. The 'Overcoat' single is there, along with nine other tracks being played by the Cliff Hedley Band.
In 2007, the next single "Indecision" received an NZ On Air video grant - check out the result at www.myspace.com/cliffhedley. Indecision has received airplay on a number of stations around New Zealand, including Kiwi FM and a spot on The Rock's "Off the Record".

Downloads Posted: Thu Mar 10, 2005 12:49 pm Hi I'm starting to upload demo mp3s - let us know what you think, as we'll be deciding on and recording single number two soon. I'll put more tracks up as we finish the demos for them. The Overcoat single is available on www.amplifier.co.nz if you want to listen - the high-quality full version you'll have to pay for, but you can check out a lower-res version for free. Cheers, Cliff |

RE: Drummer required Posted: Thu Mar 10, 2005 9:47 am No worries Coming tonight? it'll be fun tonight we've got Jamie, formerly from Naquadah filling in with us. Will be cool to have someone who moves about on the other side of the stage and also been fun jamming with him the last couple of weeks. Good luck with search for drummer. |

Drummer required Posted: Tue Mar 8, 2005 4:12 pm Mike Cains has unfortunately left us for greener pastures in Dunedin, which means we are looking for a drummer/percussionist to fill his talented shoes. We're Auckland-based if there are any drummers interested around these parts - I'll have some demo mp3s uploaded soon to listen to. Cheers, Cliff |
