Ill Received began life as Puppetmunk, forming as a three-piece in Hanmer Springs in September 2001. After shows around Christchurch with the likes of RSI, Molly Says Go and The Heist, the group decided to expand their line-up and change their name.
Recruiting their manager Bentos on vocals and ex-Molly Says Go man Toby Retallick on guitar, the band re-christened themselves Ill Received and have continued to further establish themselves in the Christchurch scene.
They have also supported touring bands such as The Offbeats.
Band Members:
Bentos (vocals)
TJ (drums)
Ruben (bass, vocals)
Toby Retallick (guitar, vocals)
Andy (vocals, guitar)

Ill Received break up Posted: Thu Dec 14, 2006 10:10 am This in from punkas.com One of the country's top pop-punk acts, Christchurch's Illreceived are breaking up after four years. The reason for the split is that most common one for New Zealand bands - a couple of members are heading overseas. The band have announced their final show will be at the Ho Ho Hodown at the Jetset Lounge on December 23, where they will also be releasing a final album. The as-yet-untitled CD features 13 new tracks recorded by Ivor "Pants" Richards and is available either at the gig or from the band for a miserly $8 (plus postage). |
