Zebulun... According to The Sunday Star Times: "the kind of sound that threatens to deafen you. The kind that makes the floor under your feet tremble and that makes your heartbeat reverberate around your ribcage".

This energetic, alternative rock band hailing from West Auckland has developed an original sound fusing tight melodious guitar licks, a punchy rhythm section and hard hitting vocals.

A tight group of skilled musicians, Aaron Healy leads the band, Roger Angove lays down the bass groove, Duncan Pankhurst on lead guitar, Michael Page on rhythm, and at the back Earl Edgar on drums.

The band has a definite and deliberate message that is inspired by their mutual faith. "It's an essential part of who we are and how we communicate", says Healy. Zebulun's lyrics speak to their generation. Anxiety, brokenness, love, dreams and hope are recurring themes for the band.

In 2004, Zebulun released their debut EP. The disk features six original tracks, three of which have enjoyed radio airplay. Breakaway was voted to number 1 on Life FM's countdown and remained there for 11 days. Zebulun was profiled on The Rock as their 'Off the Record' feature for March 2005. The band signed a distribution deal with Kick Start Records and their EP has sold over 800 copies.

While their recorded brilliance is undeniable, Zebulun's place is on stage. A tight unit that feed off the atmosphere they create when they perform together. It is no surprise that the band has a loyal following and plays to full houses consistently.

Zebulun is continually bettering their sound, the culmination of five perfectionists. Their creativity knows no bounds and they have plans to record a full-length album in 2006. The history of Zebulun is a short one, but has a long and exciting future...
