Filer

Bio

Solid guitars, decent vocals, a twist of electronica and plenty of groove to keep you rocking. Embracing digital technology Filer have taken care of there own recordings, packaging, videos and website.

In mid 1998 Mike Oakley and Ché Rogers formed Filer. Filer’s ambition was to mix guitars with the exciting new dance movement, especially jungle and drum n bass. Filer began their mission by adding hip-hop style live scratching with the help of DJ Daimon (aka The Nomad). Filer then acquired a sampler and started using a computer to construct and record their songs.

In 1999 Filer aquired another valuble asset. A new Drummer by the name of Aaron Maguire. Soon after this merge, Che stepped aside to assist in the graphic design and the set up of the website, along came Dave, and sat down beside us on Bass. Aaron has since left for the greener pastures of Melbourne. Welcome to Nigel a Jazz school student and all round great guy. The tech area is now managed by Ghalal, DJ and sampletech for the band.

Mike has also performed with Mazzanine, Gluefist and Springloader.

Band Members:
Mike Oakley (vocals, guitar, bass)
Ghalal Brizzell (DJ, guitar)
Nigel Roberts (drums, congas)
Dave Webber (bass, vocals)
Che Rogers (bass)
Max (samples)
