After serving 2 years as chief songwriter and frontman for explosive New Zealand Band Omega Dawn and touring the small country's every square inch, Damien began wondering if he was just to far away from the outside world for his music to impact the way he envisioned it, and he felt the frustration of living in a small far away country.
So it wasnt suprising that when Damien received a phonecall from a Europe based production company asking him to leave his country of birth and put his talent on the line as a solo artist that Damien's suitcase's were packed instantly and fire blazed from his shoes as he shot like a bullet to the airport.
Up to this point Damien was already loved and hated by many in New Zealand. Love by the fans for his explosive and unpredictable ways on stage and in life. And hated by the jelous few who just couldnt match or keep up with him. But for all the talk about his personality and image it was Damien's songs that got him out of New Zealand.
His obssesion with studying song structure over and over from the Beatles to Nirvana, Mozart to Sepultura and styles of music in its many popular forms had paid off. He had developed a knack of writing hooks, and BIG hooks while expressing the truth he felt for the people and world that surounded him.
Some would say you cant be a fan of bands like Pantera, Metallica, Sepultura and still love listening to Roxette, Duran Duran and Elvis Presley. But Damien took from all these forms the strength he saw in their music, and added it to his own bag of tricks as a singer, songwriter, frontman and provoker. To really entertain people you have to effect their moods, no other source is more effective than music and song changes. And Damien became one with that source. The time is now for Damien to effect the world in the way he envisioned.
