That's right - 2006 brings us the third release from Bridge City hardcore kings The Warpath. 'Nowhere to Run' is essentially the band's first full-length and features 12 tracks, including re-recordings of a couple of the songs from the 'Born Ta Fight' EP. Featuring amazing artwork from former Evil Priest vocalist Dean Parkin, this album gives us more of their Death Threat / Blood for Blood styled punk hardcore brimming with hatred for everything in their path.
Lyrical comparisons could be drawn to Neglect or Terror; with some of the most angry and heartfelt vocals that lash out with energy and conviction at the listener. Backed by energetic drumming and precision guitar and bass work, 'Nowhere to Run' is without a doubt one of the most aggressive and confrontational records to emerge from New Zealand's growing underground muisc scene. "Bring back the Hate?" It's here, and it will take your head off.
Band Members:
Dylan Walker (vocals)
The Captain (guitar)
Josh Moffitt (bass)
'Ron' Jeremy (drums)

The Warpath Break Up Posted: Sun Jan 7, 2007 10:46 am This from punkas.com Hamilton hardcore merchants The Warpath have decided to call it day after their currently scheduled shows - finishing, fittingly, at the 2007 Hamtown Smakdown. Vocalist Dylan "Knuckles" Walker posted the following on the forums: "We are sad to announce THE WARPATH have decided to break up. Over the past three years we have met some some fuckin' good cunts and had some of the best times of our life. We've had the privilege of playing with some of the best bands in the world. We've toured Australia and put out a demo, two CSs and a split 7-inch. We would like to say a big thanks to everyone who has supported us and shown us love. All the people who have put on shows, givin us a place to crash, and come along to shows and gone nuts for us. An extra big thanks goes out to Rhydian at Actionman Records for all his help. All the awesome bands we've played with. Samsam, Dynamo and any one else whos hooked us up with shows. Greame, Steve, Simon and Dean for all the killer art and design hook ups. Greg Against, Jesslad, Stu and Hughs St crew for all the help with the Aussie tour. You'll still be able to catch Josh and Ross in Antagonist and Jeremy and Dylan both have new shit in the works. We will be playing the shows already posted on our page and also a final show on fri 9th March at HAMTOWN SMAKDOWN! Thanks again! THE WARPATH" |
