Queen Annie Gets Some Regal Backing Posted: Wed Dec 3, 2003 5:50 pm Annie Crummer has scored herself a pretty handy 'backing band' for her new single, due out Monday. Three guys by the names of May, Taylor and Deacon... yes the surviving members of Queen. The regal trio provide the music for Crummer's cover of 'Another One Bites The Dust', taken from the musical 'We Will Rock You', currently playing in Melbourne, in which Crummer has a starring role as Killer Queen. EMI New Zealand Catalogue Marketing Manager Thierry Pannetier says the backing track to the single was recorded in 2003 at Roger Taylor's UK studio. Annie added her vocals later. The song is a one-off bonus track on the original London cast's recording of the 'We Will Rock You' soundtrack. |

Crummer To Become Killer Queen Posted: Thu May 29, 2003 2:54 pm Thanks to Median Strip for the following: Annie Crummer has elbowed aside competition from her Aussie counterparts to land the lead role in the Ben Elton/Queen musical 'We Will Rock You' which opens in Melbourne in August. The musical is a 'sci-fi cyber-pop' story linked by performances of classic Queen songs. Crummer will play Killer Queen - the head of the Globalsoft corporation which controls kids' lives with a diet of synthesised pop. |
