Bluey's musical involvement started in the mid eighties with guitar and then drumming. The dance, electronic side of things was kick started abruptly in 1990 during travels to Thailand, India and England. Bluey made annual pilgrimages to foreign dance floors for the next few years and became involved with organising the early Entrain parties in the Nelson area.
Bluey founded Golden Bay Records and co-founded the trance act Matipo Pyramid along with Max Maxwell and Colin Chapman. Matipo Pyramid finished up in 1997, due to all members landing jobs in different corners of the globe. Bluey continued as a solo artist producing his own style of grove infested electronica which can be hear on his debut album Ocean Unknown released in October 2000.
Other releases include tracks on the Artery CD Addiqtive Roast, a Loop cover CD, Gathering 2001 and More Bass Than Space, a dub compilation released by London based label Dubmission.
