Former members of Karena (Wellington regional finalists of Battle of the Bands 1999-2001). Third generation musicians and nephews of Taste of Bounty. Fujansu was formed in 2001 in a converted bedroom on Whanga Cres in Titahi Bay.

With the fold of Karena the 2 older brothers (Omega & L.E.V.A) decided to try something different and set to work creating music. With the introduction of the baby brother (Mr Jansen) the 3 tones, 3 bros, 3 microphones line up, FUJANSU was born. The name FUJANSU is a mix of 4 families mixed into one. FU=Fuimaono JAN= Jansen SU= Sua

Why is it 4 families mixed into one you ask? Because we are Maori/Samoan/Tokelaun former members of KARENA!! Always around music due to the Fuimaono family, music has become second nature to the 3. With such an influence on them the term "write an original" was common place in the family. Raised to make music Fujansu have seasoned abilities to move the crowd and make them believe they are listening to a remix ;o)

"Authenticity is the key", this term rings true to Fujansu, not just a (melting pot) of samples but more (pork bones and puha) a hands on sound. The group plays every instrument in every song on their album. So check them out and be the judge.
