A West Auckland Rock-Punk-Ska band, formed in 2004 from 2 brothers Lou Dog and Muttrox alongside Matty. Lou, Mutt & Matt are often joined on stage by a team of talented musicians known as ‘The Rockers’ adding layers like keys, trumpet, sax and vocals.

Before Badtown LouDog and Muttrox were a 2-piece rock band called OX. They played all over Auckland and recorded a couple of homegrown albums, ‘Barnyard Classics’ and ‘Silhouettes’.

Mutt started jammin’ some punk tunes with Matty after meeting at a few OX shows and decided to play at a mates 21st, roping Louie in for a set Badtown began.

With influences covering blues, rock, jazz, roots, reggae, hip hop, ska n punk Badtown has a unique idea for their own sound, which is apparent in their debut album ‘Rockers Run Riot’.

The boys won the first round of The Rock FM’s Rock Scholarship, taken out the first round of Alt TV’s Top of the Rocks, been awarded 2 NZ On Air grants (New Recording Artist and Music Video), recorded at a handful of different studio’s including The Lab and York St and made 2 music videos.

More recently they have supported Stiff Little Fingers on their first ever Australasian tour, including playing their own shows in the Gold Coast, Sydney & Melbourne.
