"O, Denmark Street, Denmark Street."
Many a weatherbeaten pilgrim hath uttered that phrase after traversing the harsh steppe of the Canterbury plains and entering the ruddy hamlet of Christ Churche.
Denmark Street were formed in 2006 by Lukas Thielmann of Germania along with his cronies Rev. Caleb Anderson and Michael "The Hawk" Jefferson.
Weary of the status quo and wary of the status qua, the trio sought to bring back something that has been missing from Rock n Roll for too long; namely Rock n Roll.
Taking inspiration from such diverse names as George "Buddy" Guy, Neil Percival Young, Louis Knox Barlow, Joseph Donald Mascis, McKinley Morganfield and Robert Allen Zimmerman, they have crafted a coherent hodgepodge of bluesy grungeish rock n roll for jaded Gen-Y-ers and mindless machine cogs alike.
Prone to improvisation, crude sociopolitical comment and horribly awkward onstage banter, a Denmark Street gig is not to be missed, nor dismissed.
Denmark street is not an "idea" or a "concept" or a "formula" but merely three comrades multiplying their collective skillz to produce rock music, rock music which hopefully you will enjoying boogying to.
Like most bands the bassist likes to talk out of his ass on the internet, but don't judge us on that. Judge us on our appearances, cos we're hot in more ways than one.
Band Members:
Lukas (vocals, guitar)
Caleb (bass)
Michael (drums)
