Scenic Drive, the five-piece fast becoming recognised as one of New Zealand's hardest working but most fun-loving acts, experienced success in late 2007, reaching the top 5 in the national finals of Primal Battle of the Bands.
Gaining a reputation for a sweat-fuelled live performance and crazy onstage antics, 2007 saw the band playing more than 70 shows all around New Zealand, with the boys working hard to show their Christian faith while putting on a performance that is as much fun and energy filled as possible. Featuring members of former New Zealand acts including Elliot and Joel Francis from Do or Die and Connor Nestor from Geneva. French-Canadian Pascal Jarry brings the international influence to the drums, while the brand new addition of keyboardist and vocalist Oliver Green after the break-up of his former band I Saw Fire has seen Scenic increase both professionally and personally.
The band draws inspiration from a wide range of styles, but achieve an orginial hard-hitting indie-rock sound which, along with their intense live performance, has been compared to such artists as Emery and Saosin, complimented with the pop/rock-fuelled melodies of The Almost.
With tours planned for 2008 alongside fellow pop-rock acts Fletcher, CapGunHero and Americian band Willet, and with studio time booked for their EP and other recordings, the band is fast becoming one of the most dangerous on the circuit. Keep your eyes, and your ears, on Scenic Drive as these boys are ready to blow you away...
