Haluciagea has grown out of several years of songwriting collaborations between Liam & TL, and others. Once a full rock band, now an electronic trio; Craig Black (Faker, Collapse) joined Haluciagea in 2007, adding live dubbed fx & expansive delays to Haluciagea's live show. Live performances often feature video accompaniment - visual tracks created by several talented film-makers to complement the music.
Haluciagea incorporates traditional song structures and strong vocal melodies with "conventional" electronic genres, with a heavy dose of rock thrown in. Haluciagean tracks have featured on several compilations - Relaxo Records 2004 featured 'Ill-fated' and Dodgy Records Comp, 'Sounds From The Swamp' 2005 featured 'Mellow'. 'Darkside' also featured on the Bass compilation Mental Illness 3 in 2006 and was nominated for a Bnet award in 2007.
Haluciagea released its first EP in 2006 - produced and recorded by Liam with the exception of vox, recorded by Craig Black at The Stomach. DJ Romantech from Auckland's Bass collective remixed 'Falling' - featured on the Short Circuit myspace page. 2007 has seen Haluciagea perform with The Black Seeds, Hollie Smith, Nanotek, Double Negative, Minuit, The Upbeats, Short Circuit Tour, Odessa and Philter_. Haluciagea derives its name from Clive Barker's novel, The Great and Secret Show - which featured the Hallucigenia - fragile beings of light who overcame evil by their numbers.
