Indifference was formed in 1998 in South Auckland by it's founding and still current members David Sayers (drums), Carl Win (bass and vocals), and David McIvor (guitar and vocals).
Indifference was formed with the sole purpose of creating a sound unique to itself, and with a mixture of influences thrown into the blender ranging from extreme Metal, Punk, Rock, and even Drum n Bass, a sound was created which has been described as a wall of sound, Indifference describe their sound as ScrapMetalPunk, an aggressive mixture of Death Metal, Fast Punk and an odd bit of melodic rock just to sooth the beast.
In the short existence of Indifference to date, they have had various highs and lows, the lowest point would be April 2000, when their Drummer was hospitalised for 6 months due to a serious motorcycle accident which left him being New Zealand's fastest one legged drummer.
Indifference was first brought in the spotlight through the Friday the 13th gigs held at the Power Station in Auckland, from these gigs they also had a song featured on one of the Compilation CDs.
Indifference has written and produced two EPs and one split EP with Dunedin's Llamarada, and has featured on a live to air during Mikey Havoc's morning show.
Indifference has embarked on 4 national tours, covering most towns from Whangarei to Invercargill with various radio (Cacophony, One, B Fm, The Rock) and TV (Cow TV) interviews which have lead to playing at some of the largest festivals in the South Island, Inferno FM live in the Octagon (Dunedin), a Legalise Cannabis market day in the Octagon (Dunedin) and Cherry Stock in Invercargill for the last 2 years in a row.
