Ravines

Bio

Ravines, formerly known as Ophelia, emerged as a collaborative effort between composer/producer Patrick Shanahan and singer/songwriter Alex Louise. From 2012 to 2017, the duo produced three EPs, releasing electronically-driven tracks through Alberts Publishing, Media Horse, Red Bull, and Warner Music. Previous records have featured on MTV, TNT, TV3, Edge, ZM, Hauraki, George FM and more.

Transitioning into a solo endeavor, Alex Louise now spearheads Ravines, drawing from her roots as a folk artist during her solo performance days. Based in the Bay of Plenty, her performance has evolved into a more pared-back, emotionally charged piano and loop pedal set. Upcoming single releases from Ravines navigate themes through moody vocal mixes and ambient backdrops, inviting listeners into a darker sound that merges her past and present musical explorations.

Ravines released their first single and music video Make It Stop after the hiatus in January 2024, followed by the latest release River in April. Her new EP is set to drop later this year, alongside release shows in Tauranga, Auckland and Christchurch.
