Band members Jake Schdroski and Zac Emerson are cousins, and started playing music together from the age of 7. Growing up in a small town in the Wairarapa they met Jesse Brown in primary school, who quickly became family, and formed a vital piece of the project. Growing up at the bottom of the world the internet allowed them to shape themselves musically, essentially becoming a product of the internet.

Naturally, online tastemaker blogs were the first to fall for Hurricane Love, quickly followed by Spotify fans. Following the heat from the track, the group created a music video shot in and around their home town which was premiered on MTV. In the process of releasing their EP they have also picked up a co-sign from Complex.
