Colliding Traits formed in 1997 and are based in Auckland.
Colliding Traits were formed in 1997. Right from the beginning one of the main strengths of Colliding Traits was their song writing – proven quickly in 1998 when they won the 'Best Songwriter' award at the Export Gold Battle Of The Bands and were the overall winners at the West Auckland Battle Of The Bands Regional Final in 1999.
Encouraged by this success they recorded three songs 'Silence', 'Silver and Gold' and 'Questions', pressed a limited run of copies and sold them all at gigs.
"With their tight knit sound and dedicated musicianship, Colliding Traits are set to do big things both in New Zealand and overseas" - MC Transmission Magazine
"Shannan Lambs vocals creates an honesty that listeners can appreciate" - Hamish Stevenson - Soul Purpose Magazine
"You'd better get on this quick if you still want to say you heard them back in the day" - Transmission Magazine
"Its always refreshing to watch a band live who instead of standing below a song and trying to get to it, soar above it, allowing them to play with depth and passion. It's not very often these days where you can moved by watching a band live, Colliding Traits is one of those experiences for me. Their live show is full of dynamic and integrity and where the song is priority..." - Ivan Beets - Wash
