Skivvy has performed with Kitsch, Brubeck, Foamy Ed, The Offbeats, The WBC, Next In Line and much more.
Skivvy are a six-piece ska/punk band from Auckland. They were formed back in '98 by Kev and Al Roberts (the old bassist). Since then, the band has gone through a couple of line-up changes and now has begun a new era as a six-piece.
Skivvy recorded a self-titled CD in 1999 with a previous singer, and have also recorded an EP entitled 'While Stocks Last' at Phoenix Studios in Avondale. In addition, Skivvy are featured on the Crawlspace Records CD sampler with a demo of an older song.
The band's influences range from The Specials and Bob Marley through to Rancid, Mad Caddies, NOFX, Less Than Jake, Good Riddance, Sick of it All, and many MANY more. This results in a varying sound, from fast ska to melodic punk, with reggae and faster punk thrown in to boot. But they still prefer to say, as all bands do, that they have their own sound.
Skivvy broke up in April 2002.
