Hailing from the poverty and crime stricken neighbourhood of Otara in South Auckland, Bad1 is one of New Zealand's most well known Drill Rap artists, having established himself as part of 20thBoyz. Having grown up in conditions which forced him to fend for himself, Bad1 brings his authentic personal lense of life in the streets of South Auckland for young people through his music. With many of his early solo songs and collaborations with friends such as Nola, Nelz and Sprout having been spread widely around in the circles of New Zealand youth, Bad1's status as one of the voices of the next generation grew into him having an underground cult following that awaits every release.

Now forming part of the new $4L (Set For Life) Label alongside Nola, YM, and Jaxx, Bad1 has his focus on growing his solo brand through steady consistent releases and continued collaborations with those that he started the journey with.
