Libbianski debuted as a band in 2022, bringing their own take to the shoegaze, noise rock, and dream pop.
Originally conceived as a side project from Kurt Williams (Tuscoma, Hollywoodfun Downstairs), Libbianski began as a collection of songs that Kurt had spent years working on in between extensive tours across Europe and New Zealand. Finally, in 2022, Kurt decided to flesh out the project and establish a fully-fledged band.
After meeting vocalist Mina Perniskie (Secrets of the Sun) through the local music scene and establishing a rapport, Kurt asked her to front the band and shape the sound of the music.
Shortly afterward, bass and drums were added to the line-up through Sam Leamy (Opium Eater) and Tom LaHatte (Altar of Achlys), and Kurt now with a full band behind him began developing the material into Libbianski's first upcoming album, Useless Splendour, recorded in The Armoury Studio by international record producer Troy Kelly, mixed by Chris Johnson (Deafheaven) and mastered by Alan Douches in New York at West West Side Music.
2024 saw a lineup change with Nat Reid stepping into play bass, as well as Libbianski's debut album Useless Splendour coming out.
