The Other Shoe formed in early 2001, but have struggled to play frequently due to a peculiar tyranny of distance: singer/guitarist Danial Boobyer is living in New Plymouth while the remaining 'Shoe members are based in Wanganui. The three-piece have not let this obstacle deter them, however, racking up live shows with bands such as Missing Teeth, Narcosis, The Carnys, The Have, Padded Cell, The Beatniks Foundation, GMC and more.

The Other Shoe are a young act, playing what the band describe as "plainly: music. But influenced mostly by punk with a twist of ska".

The Other Shoe has now disbanded.
