Alpine Fault are an Auckland based hard rock/metal band. An interesting combination of musical influences, backgrounds and musical tastes come together to express their unique sound and style. As East meets West, melodic arpeggios meet powerful riffs and eerie, atmospheric violins to create the harmonic symphonium of sound that they are so fond of.
In February 2005, the original line-up of Alpine Fault (with Robert Bryson on drums) began exploring different styles of music, the result being 'Severance': their first song. As exploration continued, their musical direction became more apparent. Recording sessions began in March and thanks to friends they made along the way, they began to share our music to metal fans throughout the Auckland area.
Recording continued and the 'Severance' EP was released in November. Towards the end of 2005, Rob had decided that his passion lay elsewhere and went on to join Naqaudah. Alpine Fault recruited Tim Royle (Ant's brother) formerly of Leper Asylum to fill the vital role and help take the band to another level.
Having returned from a short break, Alpine Fault has added a sixth member with Ilse Van Wyk, also on violin. Now a six piece, Alpine Fault is looking forward to a huge 2006 with talk of an album release and a tour towards the end of the year.
Band Members:
Ant Royle (vocals, guitar)
Derek Wu (guitar)
Kris O'Brien (bass)
Yvette Van Wyk (violin)
Ilse Van Wyk (violin)
Tim Royle (drums)

First Single - Severance Posted: Thu Apr 28, 2005 8:01 am You can find and download a 'near-complete' copy of our first single "Severance" at our website: www.alpinefault.co.nz We'd love to know what you think. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but we'd appreciate any feedback which may help us with the final mixdown. This message was edited by Ant_Alpine Fault on Thu Apr 28, 2005 8:06 am. |
