In a relatively short period of time, Stoods have received acclaim and recognition from respected industry individuals. Their sound has been described in the media as beautifully crafted rock ballads, along the lines of Jeff Buckley, Coldplay, Travis, with their heavier numbers reminiscent of Muse and early Radiohead.

2001 New Zealand National Battle of the bands winners. Phil Stoodley has also received awards for 'Best Singer' and 'Best Songwriter'.

To date, STOODS have performed with notable acts such as Jimmy Barnes, Pacifier, The Feelers, Fur Patrol, Augustino and Zed.

Auckland Rock band STOODS are releasing their debut EP CD “Redlight” nationwide on 10 October 2003. The self funded 5 track EP is produced by James Reid (The Feelers).
