When did the band form? Southern Antarctica formed late 2014.
Duo completed 2019.

Where did the name come from? There are many bands in the Northern Hemisphere (believe it or not) called Antarctica. We liked the idea of the name and as we actually are the Southern-most band with that name we added the Southern to it. That is as far South as one can go...ask Shakelton.

What are your musical influences? Music from Folk to Rock

The original tunes, who writes those? Drummer 'Mouse', and pianist wife Mary.

Where do you play? Retired to a shed (Thanks Covid), but that is not the end of the world.

What is the band's highlight so far? From 2021 leaving out the gigs and recording commencing in a professional environ.

What is the future for the band? Getting the songs out there. Please share if you like them.

What aspects of the band are best? It's a lot of fun. We have a good team that clicks, there is a lot of underlying talent and productive alternative material upcoming, it keeps the band fresh and we are able to express ourselves.

How can anyone hire Southern Antarctica? Not currently for hire.
