Local New Zealand community record label Home Alone Music are happy to announce that they will be releasing a new compilation titled Winter 2020 on July 3rd. Alongside this, they are pleased to share the first single from it - Red Red Red by emerging Wellington songwriter Mystery Waitress.

The compilation is the fourth and final in a seasonal flavoured series featuring artists in the Home Alone fold and friends. The first, Summer was released in 2012. Winter 2020 comes out in the label's 14th year running and celebrates the growing collective of artists from New Zealand, Australia and the USA.

The compilation will be presented on a limited edition run of cassette tapes (available to pre-order from today on Bandcamp), and will also be available to stream on Spotify and Apple Music from July 3rd. The compilation features new and recent tracks from artists including Fraser Ross, Ida Lune, Dawn Diver, French of Rabbits, Helena Massey (AUS) and Shenandoah Davis (US).

The first single on the compilation, is also the first taste from an upcoming new record by emerging artist Mystery Waitress. The project from Wellington songwriter Tessa Dillon also features Olivia Campion (Yumi Zouma, Girlboss, Dam Dans) on drums, and James Morgan on synth and bass guitar.

In 2016 Tessa released the album 11:11 under her own name. After a few years of dabbling in other musical projects, Mystery Waitress was born out of a desire to experiment with a range of instruments and styles. With Mystery Waitress, a unique and compelling middle-ground is found between the soft, beautiful songwriting of influences such as Nick Drake and Jessica Pratt, and the louder and more energetic sounds of influences such as Tiger Trap and Warpaint.
