Kaylee Bell’s new single Home will be available on Friday 3rd July across all major platforms. Written and recorded during the nationwide lock-down, Home is an important and personal keepsake, an ode to growing up in New Zealand and the desire to return. The music video for Home features Bell’s real-life friends and family and was shot in her hometown Waimate through to Lake Tekapo.
"Home was a song I wrote with Simon Oscroft (Midnight Youth) during lock down about the feeling of missing home and the people that make it exactly that, I love to get back to see my family and friends any chance I get so for me the feeling that I couldn't just go and see them when I wanted was really difficult. At its essence I hope Home is a song that connects people back to their roots - that sense of warmth and comfort that you know when you are home.”
Bell grew up singing in her native New Zealand from the age of 4 and is now an award-winning Country Music artist. She is an NZVMA Tui winner for NZ Best Country Album (2014), an NZCMA winner for Best NZ Female Artist (2013/14) and has also won the APRA Best Country Song (2015).
At age 21 Bell moved solo across the ditch to pursue a career in Country Music, winning Australia’s prestigious Toyota Star Maker (previous winners include Keith Urban) and has had over ten Top 10 Country Radio hits. Bell has spent the past ten years between NZ, Australia and Nashville writing and recording with top artists and producers in the US. Over the past eight summers in Nashville, Bell has been perfecting her craft, including the release of breakout song Getting Closer written with Australian country music star Morgan Evans and her recent hit single Keith written as a tribute to Keith Urban that has clocked up almost 3 million Spotify streams alone.
Bell has also worked with some of the most elite country music artists in the world including performing with Keith Urban in 2014 and 2016 and was the support act for The Dixie Chicks on their World Tour in New Zealand 2017.
Bell is the 'Most Streamed Country Artist on Spotify' from Australasia after only Keith Urban and Morgan Evans and is currently the 'Most streamed Female Country Artist' for Australasia for 2019.
