Melbourne-based, New Zealand-born, producer/DJ duo Chores have just revealed their anthemic new single Tremble featuring Brisbane-based avant-garde artist LALKA.

Tremble is three minutes of engrossing EDM, punctuated by steadfast drums, thudding bass and the alluring auto-tuned vocals of LALKA. The pre-choruses see the track’s most intimate moments, before escalating towards intense choruses, led by echoing vocal samples and ferocious saw synths.
“We discovered LALKA on Triple J. She reminded us of our favourite bands when we started DJing – Crystal Castles, The Knife. We tracked her down via Triple J Unearthed and the collaboration began,” says Chores - AKA Sam Saunders and Thommy Simmons.
Tremble is the first single from Chores’ upcoming debut EP, which they finished while in lockdown in Melbourne, where they’ve been based since winning Best Electronic Act at the 2018 Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards.
The EP, which is out in 2021, reinforces the duo’s reputation as one of the most exciting electronic acts this side of the equator.
Previous singles like Away, By Your Side, Surrender and their official remix of Fatboy Slim’s Weapon Of Choice have seen Chores hailed as an act to watch. They’ve clocked up more than a million streams across digital platforms and have also received widespread love from radio on both sides of the Tasman.
Chores are also a live force to be reckoned with, performing at many of NZ’s biggest festivals and opening for acts such as Basement Jaxx, What So Not, Duke Dumont, Peking Duk, The Chainsmokers and A-Trak. Expect to see the lads back in New Zealand this summer for a number of festival dates.
Chores featuring LALKA Tremble is out now.
