Band & Musician News - New Song from Chris Bates on 2 April

New Song from Chris Bates on 2 April

26 March 2021 - 0 Comments

They Don’t Know A Thing About Me is the title track of Chris Bates’ double EP with the same name.

The song will be released on April 2nd, with the wider project following song by song in the next few months.

It’s the first song leading the charge on his second EP, and sums up the theme of the whole project. It explores the journey of self doubt and the anxiety of trying to please other people’s ideas of what you should be, or do, or say, and realising that nobody really knows you like you do.

“It’s the first time I’m being truly vulnerable in front of my audience.”

The music video (shot/edited by Peter Pedro) will be released the same day, shot against a while wall with a crowd of people all wearing the same white t-shirt, representing the idea of having to conform with the crowd, and trying to get out.

The song was produced by two Auckland masterminds, primarily Christian Tjandrawinata, with the help of Harry Charles.
