After making his mark on the local indie scene, New Zealand’s Cam Maclean has revealed a new project – Cammy – alongside a catchy-as-hell pop banger, Okie Dokie.

The new single follows up 2019’s sultry smooth debut, New Horizon and now under the Cammy moniker, the emerging Wellington artist takes the vibe into new pop territories.
With silky vocal cadences, quirky melodies and a bouncy beat, Okie Dokie is a journey into the otherworld, emoting the feeling of an eternal honeymoon.
Lyrically, it touches on longing and infatuation until the chorus erupts into a euphoric chant, which captures the wholesome feeling of being up-close with a certain someone.
“Okie Dokie serves as a memoir for the bitter days to lift me back up,” says Cammy. “A reminder of unconditional love and hope that it will strike again.”
Drawing inspiration from Frank Ocean, Mac Miller and The Beatles; Cammy’s songs offer a gateway into a chill- rhythmic, plutonic space.
During the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown, he moved back to his parents house and converted the bottom floor into a home studio styled space where he recorded Okie Dokie. Here Cammy also spent his time honing his musicianship, teaching himself bass and practising keys, guitar and vocals, which resulted in a burst of creativity that birthed a bunch of new songs.
Deep into recording his debut EP, Cammy is ecstatic to get back on the stage and showcase what he’s all about. The future's looking bright.
