"Cali High’s journey started in the Sea of Japan, somewhere between Tokyo and Vladivostok. We came up with this beautiful melody and then felt like we were plotting a course. So New Zealand where Graham Candy is from became our next destination for this track. But it still wasn’t quite there yet. We looked higher, headed high north and voilà reached California. That’s how our version of Pacific Devil’s triangle was born. Recreating the idea of this paranormal phenomenon of the unforgiving waters where everything disappears without a trace we were able to create something that’d be there forever.” - MTRSS
MTRSS is an audio-visual voyage, a collaborative journey, exploring what happens when artists and digital alchemists get together to create order from chaos. And chaos from order.
The MTRSS collective has released a succession of high-calibre remixes as an accompaniment to the single and selected NZ award-winning duo, Chores, for the latest version, released March 19.
“It was an amazing opportunity to work with Graham Candy, a Kiwi who is killing it overseas and has such a big following throughout Europe,” says Thom Simmons (Chores).
“We would love to go over and collaborate in person once all this COVID is behind us. We are stoked they chose us to work on the project with them for the Kiwi side of things.”
“The song is a Summer anthem, which reminds us of LA and even more poignant now we can’t get there at the moment,” adds Sam Saunders (Chores).
MTRSS Cali High and Cali High (Chores remix) are out now.
