Today Friday 26 March, inimitable Wellington two-piece Fruit Juice Parade will release their sophomore EP The More You Question, The Further You Get From The Answer, fresh off the back of their student radio hit, the more you don't know the less you know.
Fruit Juice Parade, made up of Shannen (guitar, vocals) and Tharushi (drums, vocals), write songs that "get under your skin" (Undertheradar.co.nz). One of the many idiosyncratic talents to have come out of the all ages music scene surrounding The Stomach in their hometown of Te Papaioea, NZ Musician has dubbed them, "the pride of Palmerston North." The More You Question, The Further You Get From The Answer was written as the band were in their last year of high school, and evokes that familiar moment of promise and nostalgia. Lead single The More You Don't Know The Less You Know was released earlier in the month and topped student radio charts, making the #1 spot on the national Student Radio Network charts on the week of release. The song is about leaving the relative safety and security of your hometown, high school and living at home and entering adulthood.
Though Shannen (guitar, vocals) and Tharushi (drums, vocals) have been quiet as Fruit Juice Parade for a couple of years, they have been busy playing in other bands and with their own solo projects (Queen's Cup, Sports Dreams, Shannen Georgia Petersen, Museum Stork). They are very excited for the world to hear this EP, which was recorded and mixed by Jesse Austin-Stewart at the new Massey studios in Wellington, and mastered by James Stuteley (of Carb on Carb). The photo series and cover art were taken by Lily West (of Mermaidens).
The More You Question, The Further You Get From The Answer is available now.
