Crafted in the soft shoegaze dreamscapes where you’d find a blend of Rüfüs Du Sol, Mild Orange, DIIV and Slowdive, Heavy Chest and BENEE partner up for the first time on Sunday926. Sitting perfectly in the lo-fi, chill pop and electronic genres, ‘sunday926’ lends itself to feature in a pivotal movie moment.
After BENEE made repeat public mentions that Heavy Chest is one of her favourite bands, the two artists united and collaborated on this brand-new Heavy Chest project. Titled Sunday926 the title reflects upon the time they spent creating the track.
This was Heavy Chest’s first piece of music that he’d created since moving away from the bustling capital city of Wellington to the gentle pace of Whangamatā in the Coromandel.
The track was entirely produced and mixed by Andre from his home studio setup and then mastered by Grammy Award winning Randy Merrill who is the Mastering Engineer behind works such as, Lorde - Melodrama, Harry Styles - Harry’s House, Olivia Rodrigo - Sour and many more amazing works.
This single is also the first time that BENEE has featured on another Kiwi track outside of collaborations with Jack Berry and Muroki on her own singles.
